Privacy Policy

This privacy notice sets out how Animal Focused uses and protects any information that you provide through our website or in person.

Animal Focused is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Any information provided will be used in accordance with this privacy policy. 

What we collect: We may collect the following information:

  • Contact information including name, email address, business name and type, telephone number and address.

  • Financial information to process your payments, where applicable.

  • Additional information such as date of birth may be required for qualification registrations.

What we do with the information we gather: We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Internal record keeping. We may use the information to improve our services and will use it to keep your record up to date.

  • We may periodically send promotional offers, or other information which we think you may find interesting, using the email address which you have provided.

  • We will not provide your information to any third party without your express permission, with the exception of the awarding bodies, contracted tutors and assessors that we work with in order to process any qualifications and the Primary Authority register who require an annual update of our membership list. 

By submitting your personal information and indicating that you would like to receive further information from us, you consent to us using your personal information in the above ways.

How long do we keep information? We will keep your digital information on our secure database and your confidential paperwork in a secure cupboard.

Names, telephone numbers and address linked to purchased service will be kept for seven years, in line with HMRC requirements as a sole trader. Records will be disposed of by removal of any saved electronic data.

What if I don’t want to hear from the Animal Focused Alliance? You can request that we stop contacting you at any time. We will remove your information from our database and will not contact you again unless you make another purchase with us in the future. Please contact  Vicky@animalfocused.co.uk if you wish to make a request.

How to raise a concern or complaint about your data

You can raise a concern with us in writing by emailing Vicky@animalfocusesd.co.uk. Please include enough detail for us to understand your concern, along with how you would like us to respond.

We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days of receiving it. We will look into it, keep you informed of our progress, and aim to resolve it as quickly and fairly as we can.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to raise your concern with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection. You can contact the ICO at www.ico.org.uk, or by calling their helpline on 0303 123 1113. We would, however, welcome the chance to resolve your concern directly with you first.
