RAISING STANDARDS.
SUPPORTING PROFESSIONALS.
PROTECTING ANIMAL WELFARE.

We bring together pet businesses, industry experts, and welfare specialists to promote high standards of care and professional excellence across the UK’s animal services sector.

A bit about what we do

The Animal Focused Alliance is a UK trade association providing professional, welfare-led support for pet businesses.

We help licensed and professional pet businesses work ethically, compliantly, and with confidence, offering clear guidance on animal welfare, licensing, and regulatory responsibilities.
From dog walkers and home boarders to animal encounter providers, groomers, and animal-assisted therapy teams, we support pet professionals who want to do things properly, with animal welfare at the heart of every decision.

Our Mission: To support pet professionals to operate confidently, ethically, and responsibly by providing clear, welfare-led regulatory guidance and acting as a credible, representative voice for the sector.

Setting the standard for pet professionals

Every pet professional has a responsibility to safeguard the physical, emotional, and behavioural wellbeing of the animals in their care.

OUR MEMBERS COMMIT TO:

  • Understanding and providing for animals welfare needs

  • Recognising and responding appropriately to signs of stress, fear, or discomfort

  • Using working methods that support positive welfare outcomes, not just compliance

  • Maintaining ongoing professional development, staying current with welfare science, legislation, and best practice

We believe good practice goes beyond meeting minimum requirements. We’re setting a new benchmark for the pet care sector, not just compliance, but excellence.

Through our Code of Conduct, expert guidance, and collaborative approach, we’re building a trusted community of pet professionals who put animal welfare first.
